many years of experience and developed a practical and attractive
work area. The galley is complete with stainless steel sink unit with hot
and cold mixer tap. There is a three-burner hob unit with oven and grill,
cutlery drawer, cupboards, electric refrigerator, as well as an opening
window and ventilator.

Saloon:

The spacious saloon has corner seating and a table to portside with chairs being made portable to provide two comfortable dining seats at the main table. Opposite the settee is an attractive sideboard with cabinets, and provision for a T.V. Opening windows are provided in the saloon.

Forward Guest Cabin:

The forward guest cabin comprises twin 'V' berths with upholstered
headboards and hull linings, a wardrobe, a mirror, drawers and shelves.
There are also roof and individual reading lights, as well as a
ventilation/escape hatch in roof and opening windows.

Forward Head:

The forward guest cabin in the 425 is really superior with a large shower and toilet compartment. The berth can easily be converted from twins to a double (please note double berth illustrated in photograph). Roof and individual reading lights. Escape/ ventilation hatch in roof.

Aft Master Cabin:

The aft cabin is a Broom speciality and the 42 takes this concept a
stage further. There is a large double berth, spacious wardrobes,
ample drawer space and full headroom. Transom mounted windows
give plenty of light and also provide a means for escape, as required by
the latest European safety standards.

Aft Master Head:

Complete with sea toilet, moulded wash basin and vanity unit with a cupboard and mirror. Mixer tap for hot and cold water supply. 240 volt shaving point. Towel rail and toilet paper holder, plus toothbrush and glass holder.

Construction

Hull Design and Construction:

The mouldings are of excellent quality and are produced using hand laid chopped strand mat and woven rovings in Lloyds approved isopthalic gel coat and resin, over double brushed isopthalic gel coat all but eliminating the risk of osmosis. Substantial transverse and longitudinal stringers are Incorporated throughout the hull for strength. The hull and deck joint is both riveted and bonded.

Command Layout:

Ergonomically well laid out, the console design permits ease of monitoring the engine systems and navigation equipment, together with an excellent view. Weather protection is provided by the large windscreen. A two part hood protects the cockpit area and helmstation.

Upholstery and Interior Fabrics:

The choice of materials is very flexible to meet owner requirements. Externally, vinyl covering is standard material in a single colour with piping. Internally the owner is free to choose from the range of materials offered by our interior designers.

Deck Layout:

The layout provides an easy to use boat when either passing through locks, low bridges or just mooring up, yet also provides comfort and safety when cruising offshore. A major feature of the 425 is the easy and safe access from both sides of the transom with more than adequate safety rails and handholds. The large aft deck area has a door at the aft end for added security. There is also a large dinette seating area with table for outside dining. Teak type decking on the bathing platform and deck steps is provided as standard, together with a boarding ladder.

Engines:

Only the best marine diesel engines are considered for the 425. The standard specification provides for a single or twin inboard diesel units. For full details of the engine options, and performance figures, please see price list. Each engine is fitted with full instrumentation, flexible mounts and shaft couplings, water-cooled exhaust and silencer.

Instrumentation:

Full instrumentation with auto alarm systems, water temperature and oil pressure gauges, electric engine stop controls. Engine hour meter, compass, speed and distance recorder, depth sounder. Single lever controls for gear-change and speed control.

Electrical Systems:

Engine and domestic batteries have a 12 volt system. Each engine has its own starting battery and both engine and domestic batteries are charged through diode splitters. A 240 volt ring is installed for connecting to shore supply when ordinary domestic equipment can be used. All 240 volt and 12 volt circuits are protected by circuit breakers.

Stern Gear:

The single engine boat has a large rudder with keel skeg protection for rudder and propeller. Twin engine craft have twin rudders which are shallower than the keel

Overall height mast down: 10ft 10 (3.3m)
